Charity and Philanthropy

Singleton Lodge’s Charity and Philanthropy: Strengthening Our Communities

A Masonic Lodge is not a community or charitable organization, rather we are a society of men who seek to become better and make the world around us better and as such engage in community and charitable activities. It is a distinction.

In 2018, Singleton Lodge adopted a formalized statement on our approach to charity and philanthropy:
“Singleton Masonic Lodge is committed first and foremost to the care of our distressed worthy brothers, their spouses, and offspring. Secondly, Singleton Masonic Lodge works to ensure that the values of Masonry are alive in our community by supporting programs that provide education and development of the youth in the community, care for and provide for the most vulnerable in our community, and organizations that enhance the quality of life in the communities in which our brothers live and work. Our priority on giving will be to solve clearly identified problems with clear solutions and long-lasting impact.”
Singleton’s charitable and philanthropic efforts are inclusive and extensive.  Sometimes our philanthropic effort is providing cupcakes and juice boxes for a special after school event at DC Parks and Recreation, other times we may be giving grants to help address human need, sponsoring a classroom, or being a meal sponsor for an organization. You can see us rolling up our sleeves to install whiteboards in local schools, give blood, and serve snow cones.  If there is a cause that aligns well with our mission, feel free to let us know!
