Your Masonic Family is Here to Help

Relief is a central tenant of Masonry. We are obligated to help our brothers, their spouses, and their dependent children at their time of need. A majority of this relief is funded directly by the brother’s lodge. Sometimes, however, the need may be greater than an individual lodge can afford to give. To help in these situations, the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia formed several organizations to assist the Lodges and their members. [NEED MORE]

[NEED MORE HERE]
St. John's Mite Masonic Relief
St. John's Mite is a charitable fund that provides emergency short term assistance for members of our constituent Lodges who are in need.  St. John’s Mite provides additional monetary relief above and beyond what the lodge provides. This aid is provided anonymously and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. St. John's Mite is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization. Lodges who wish to submit a request should have their secretary transmit a letter of request to the St. John’s Mite Secretary.

For more information about the St. John's Mite Relief program, please review its FAQ.
Masonic & Eastern Star Home (MESH) Relief
The Masonic and Eastern Star Homes of DC provide services and financial relief to Freemasons and members of the Order of the Eastern Star of the District of Columbia, and their spouses. They also support the charitable and community services of other organizations and people serving the people and communities of District of Columbia. MESH Charities of the District of Columbia is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt non-profit organization.

MESH runs several programs in three main areas. Its primary mission is providing high quality care to senior members in need. This includes in-home care as well as placement in the best residential facilities on an ongoing basis at no cost for qualified applicants. MESH also provides humanitarian relief for members who are experiencing short term hardship, in a variety of ways. The third area of focus is to be an engaged member of our DC community, and to provide grants to worthy charitable organizations doing work in line with the mission of MESH.

For more information on how MESH can help, please contact Brother Secretary or our Lodge's MESH representative.
Masonic Foundation of the District of Columbia Funding
